The Suncook Valley Area Lions Club will hold their monthly meeting on Monday, Nov. 21 at 6pm at the PES Cafeteria. New members are always welcome.
Save the Date – SAT, DEC 3 – The Greater Pittsfield Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the Children’s Store at PES Gym from 9-12. Kids only shopping at kid friendly pricing. Kids can shop for their family, friends, and teachers. Free gift wrapping is available. Later that day, at Dustin Park from 4-6, the annual Christmas Tree Lighting event will take place. There will be free cookies, cocoa, candycanes and popcorn – along with horse drawn wagon rides, visit with Santa, Holiday music, Holiday Story time, face painting, Gingerbread houses display and raffle. At 6pm the Tree will be lit.
Donations of new and/or gently used items are being collected for the Chamber of Commerce sponsored Children’s Store. Items should be things kids would like to buy for their parents, siblings, family members, friends and teachers. Please, no clothing. We can collect hats (baseball, winter), gloves, jewelry, candles, small tools, flashlights, coffee mugs, vases, stuffed animals, etc. Donation boxes are located at the Post Office, Town Hall, Northway Bank, Jitters and Epping Well. At the Christmas Tree Lighting event on Sat, Dec. 3 there will be a Decorated Wreath Contest. Everyone is invited to bring a decorated wreath (anyway you’d like) to Dustin Park by 3:45pm and register at PYW. The wreaths will be displayed from 4-6pm and the public will vote for their favorite wreath. The winner will be announced after the Tree Lighting and will receive a $50 CASH Prize!
At the Senior Center on Tuesday, November 22, at 10:30AM- Holiday Season Kickoff with a live musical Performance by Bill Parker; Bill puts on a great show by playing the harmonica, keyboard, and singing all at the same time. He performs a wide variety of music from the Great American songbook. The show is free, so please come enjoy the show and stay for lunch. To RSVP please call 435-8482.
Thanksgiving Bake and Craft Sale on Tues Nov. 22 from 9:00-11:30AM at the Senior Center. There will be a pie and craft sale during the musical performance of Bill Parker. This would be a great time to pick up homemade pies for your thanksgiving meal. There will also be crafts on sale, so you can shop for your holiday meal and start your Christmas shopping. If you want to donate baked goods or crafts for the sale, please drop them off any time on Monday or Tuesday morning November 21 and 22.
The Josiah Carpenter Library is sponsoring Fine Free Week from Nov. 21- Dec. 2. Bring back long overdue items and donations to the FOOD Pantry and the Library will cancel your fines.
The Josiah Carpenter Library presents local artist, Rosemary Pierce. She is a self taught artist and uses three different mediums including oil, watercolor and pastel. Her artwork will be on exhibit from Nov 1 – Jan.10.
The Library will be closed Nov. 24, 25 & 26 for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Pittsfield Youth Workshop and the Schools will be closed Nov. 23, 24 & 25 and the Town Offices will be closed on Nov. 24 & 25 for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
The Pittsfield Middle High School Alumni Basketball games will be held on Friday, Nov. 25 starting at 5:30pm at the PMHS Gym. The current Girls team vs ALL Female Alumni play at 5:30pm; current Boys team vs Alumni of last 3 years at 6:30pm and Alumni of ODD years vs Alumni of EVEN years at 7:30pm.
