About the Dr. Forest B Argue Memorial Pool….
This three acre park located within walking distance of many homes in Pittsfield serves as the Town Pool. If features two pavilions suitable for group picnics, arts and crafts, picnics a recently refurbished snack bar/bathroom building. The pool is managed by the Pittsfield Park and Recreation Commission and is open seven days a week during the summer months. A fishing derby, ice skating and other similar events are scheduled during the year.
The park was donated to the town by the Pittsfield Rotary in 1961 in memory of Dr. Forest B. Argue, MD. This pond was previously known as Clarks Pond being used as a mill pond. The pond was dredged, a new dam built, fencing erected about the perimeter of the pond area and a new bath house was erected.
