The Pittsfield Youth Workshop is 30 years old!! Plans are being made to celebrate this wonderful milestone. Save the Date for Old Home Day – Sat, July 22 and the theme of the day is “PITTSFIELD GOES TO THE CIRCUS! ” We would love to have ALL the organizations in town have a float in the parade. Contact Mark Riel at 435-6346 or amg1mar@metrocast.net to register your float.
The Cook Off this year will be your “Favorite Flavored Popcorn” – google it for ideas – more info to come!

The Greater Pittsfield Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring the Multi Town Yard Sale on June 4 from 8-2 pm. All Chamber Member towns (Barnstead, Chichester, Epsom, Gilmanton, Loudon Northwood & Pittsfield) are eligible to participate. The map of registered locations will be available online at www.pittsfieldchamber.org in the days prior to the event. There will also be a printable list of addresses available on the website.

A Pittsfield Community Garden committee has been formed and they will meet each Thursday at 6:30 pm at the Town Hall. If you are interested in helping or would like more information, please attend the meeting.

Foot Work Friday! PES students can be dropped off at the Family Dollar parking lot on Friday and WALK to school with PES staff. Students are also encouraged to bring their bike to school that day.

Calling ALL Victory Workers 4-H Club Alumni, current members and leaders- Save the date, Sat, June 24 to celebrate the Club’s 75 years. Registration at 11am, business meeting at 11:30 am, Pot Luck Lunch at 1 pm and Kids games, Social “hours” and sharing memories from 1-3 pm at the Riel’s Barn, 930 Catamount Rd. “Let There Be Peace,” the First Congregational Church’s annual patriotic concert, is set for Friday, June 2, 7 p.m. at the church, 24 Main Street, Pittsfield. It will feature the Chancel Choir, JuBellation Handbell Choir and other musicians. Light refreshments will be served. Be sure to mark your calendar for this exciting event for all ages. Bring a friend! Parking and wheelchair accessibility available at the Chestnut Street entrance. More information at 435-7471.

It is time to pick Pittsfield’s 2017 Citizen of the Year. We need to know who you feel should be honored this year. Please send the name of your nominee and why you feel they should be honored to: Citizen of the Year, P O Box 173, Pittsfield N H 03263. The deadline to receive nominations will be June 19. A panel of former Citizens of the Year will choose this year’s honoree from the nominations submitted.

Pittsfield Balloon Rally’s Frank H. Donovan 5K race will be held Sunday, August 6th at 9:00 am, starting from Drake Field. Registration at lightboxreg.com or paper app on the back of the brochure/ available thru Lightbox. Pre-registration cost is $20 and Race Day registration is $25 (cash only). An American Red Cross Blood Drive will be held on Tuesday, June 6 from 3:30-8 pm at the PES Gym.

The Pittsfield Youth Workshop Board of Directors will meet on Wed, June 7 at 6:15 pm.

The Pittsfield Beautification Committee will meet on Mon, June 5 at 6:30 pm at the Town Hall.

On Tues, June 6 at 10:30 am at the Senior Center – Live Musical Performance by Bill Parker – Bill is a very lively performer and highly enjoyed by all. He plays the harmonica, keyboard, and sings. It is a sight to see! He performs a wide variety of music from the Great American songbook. The show is free, so please come enjoy the show and stay for lunch. To RSVP please call 435-8482.

The Infant-Toddler Diaper Pantry will be open on Tues, June 6 fro 9-11 am at the First Congregational Church. Young families are given supplemental diapers and wipes. Everyone is welcome. Please use the Chestnut Street entrance. Monetary and product contributions are most welcome. Please call the church to arrange drop off at 435-7471.

On July 22nd Pittsfield will celebrate Old Home Day “Pittsfield Goes to the Circus!” The community fair will be in Dustin Park from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The Old Home Day Committee is looking for crafters and community organizations to join the fair. Community organizations can participate for free, and the vendor fee is $10.00. If you would like to set up a table or booth please contact Leslie Vogt at 435-7993 or lesliegvogt@gmail.com.

On Monday, June 12th, PYW will be holding an Open House from 4:00 to 6:00 PM for new youth and parents to check out the Drop-In Center, and for everyone to sign up for summer trips and/or activities. Yearly membership dues are $25 per child (maximum of $50 per family – no matter how many children participate) and runs each year from July to June. If you would like information on scholarships or need financial assistance, please stop by PYW and speak with Zach or Paula.
