The Pittsfield Senior Center is holding a Tai Chi class for seniors, on Wednesdays from 1:00pm-2:00pm in the Bicentennial Room of the Pittsfield Community Center located on 74 Main St. in Pittsfield. This senior safe Tai Chi provides relaxation, concentration, flexibility, balance, and strength through slow moving meditative forms. The cost is $6.00 per visit or $20.00 for four weeks. The Pittsfield Youth Workshop is 30 years old!! Plans are being made to celebrate this wonderful milestone. If you attended PYW, worked at PYW, volunteered at PYW anytime over the past 30 years – we want to hear from you. The NH Department of Safety, Division of Motor Vehicles is pleased to announce that a new computer system (VISION) will be implemented in the month of February. As a result, there will be an interruption of motor vehicle registration processing statewide. Town/City Clerk’s offices, along with the DMV offices, will be unable to process new or renewal registrations over the President’s Day holiday weekend and will be resuming transactions on Wednesday, February 22, 2017. Throughout this process, the Town Clerk’s office will be open for other transactions not related to vehicle registrations during our normal, scheduled hours of operation.

The Library Trustees would like to meet with the public on Wed, Feb. 22 at 7pm at the Town Hall to discuss ideas for the new acquired Barn (located beside the Library and donated by Bill Miskoe). The Pittsfield Players’ Kid’s’ Theater Workshop is currently in rehearsal for this season’s presentation of “Singin’ In The Rain Jr.” The show will run at the Scenic Theatre on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, February 23, 24 and 25, at 7:30 pm each evening. In addition, there will be two matinee performances on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 21 and 22, at 12:30 pm for local schools and home schoolers, so that kids might see their peers on stage and develop an interest in theater. Participants in the Kids’ Theater Workshop range in age from 8 to 18, and they learn all aspects of theater including on stage and behind the scenes. Tickets for the evening shows are $8 for kids under 12 and $12 for adults and can be reserved by calling 435-8852.

The Pittsfield Circle of Home & Family group will meet on Thursday, Feb. 23 at 7pm at the Community Center, lower level. New members are always welcome. For more information, please contact Andi Riel at 435-6346 or pittsfieldtowncrier@hotmail.com.

The Suncook Valley Area Lions Club will meet on Monday, Feb. 20 at 6pm at the PES cafeteria.

The Pittsfield Wellness Coalition will meet on Mon, Feb. 20 at 6pm at the PMHS Media Center.

The Conservation Commission will meet on Thurs, Feb. 23 at 7pm at the Town Hall.

A Community Conversation Series will be held on Tues, Feb. 21 at 6pm at the PMHS Media Center. Hosted by Dr. John Freeman, Superintendent of Schools, the topic will be “Proposed 2017-18 School District Budget – What is the proposed budget and why?”.

The Infant Toddler Diaper Pantry will be open on Tuesday, Feb 21 from 9-11am at the First Congregational Church. Young families are given supplemental diapers and wipes. Everyone is welcome. Note – Please use the Chestnut Street entrance.

The Suncook Valley Sno-Riders Poker Run will be held on Sat Feb. 25. Registration is from 9-11am at the Tilton Hill Field. $20 for 2 hands(includes lunch); $8/hand; $15 for 2 hands (lunch not included); $5 for Extra hand. The Greater Pittsfield Chamber of Commerce and Pittsfield Listens is hosting Candidates Night on March 6 at the PES Gym – 6pm – refreshments; 6:30-8:30-event. Come to meet and ask questions of the candidates for local office and participate in small group discussions. Childcare and transportation available by request.
